I believe ceremony is one of life's most meaningful expressions: a moment to pause time, open the heart, and honour the truth of love.

Since I was ordained in 2024, I've married over 40 couples, and no two have been alike. I've married a couple who had been engaged for 34 years, and couples who arrived by helicopter. I've stood before hundreds of guests, and with just two witnesses on a quiet beach. There have been dogs in bow ties, kids holding the rings, and one ring that turned up taped under a seat. And more than once, rain has rolled in just in time to hide the happy tears.

The moments I love most are the surprises: a couple asking their mothers to step forward as witnesses, or a whole crowd of guests rising to make a community vow, promising to stand by the couple for the years ahead. That's where a ceremony stops being a formality and becomes something everyone remembers.

My journey has been shaped by years of living and studying around the world, from the temples of Nepal and India to the rice fields of Ubud. Today I split my year between two homes. Summers belong to Vancouver Island, where I officiate weddings from June through September. The rest of the year I live in Bali, immersed in yoga, meditation and travel, in a place where ceremony is part of everyday life. Offerings are made at every doorstep, and nothing important happens without ritual. Bali keeps reminding me why ceremony matters, and I bring that back to every wedding.
